PE and Sport
We deliver our P.E curriculum through two sessions per week, developing and building team work and physical skills. Quality P.E sessions are delivered by a specialist P.E coordinator from Year 1 to Year 6 as well as class teachers. We are fortunate to have high quality facilities including two sports halls and two large playing fields. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs throughout school and participate in numerous competitions in the local area and across the Tees Valley. Our P.E curriculum is coherently planned into the following sequence of topics:
We ensure high quality physical education and access to a wide range of sports, activities and competitive events through our own full time PE specialist, Miss Stansmore.
At Whinstone we believe Physical Education can contribute to a child’s intellectual, emotional, personal development and self-esteem, therefore we encourage a positive fit and healthy lifestyle
Indoor PE kit consists of a plain t-shirt either house team colour or white, dark shorts and plimsoles or trainers.
