We will be streaming the classes, your child may move class and be taught by another Year 3 teacher. By doing this, we believe that we are able to more closely match the work to your child’s ability and offer him/her greater support and opportunity for challenge. These set groups will be regularly reviewed as the year progresses.
It will be set once a week for spellings and once a week for Maths, this must be completed, if for any reason your child is unable to do this a brief note explaining would be appreciated. Some homework may be set that requires access to the Internet, if your child does not have access to the Internet access will be provided at school. Other homework for science and topic may be sent as well.
Please can your child read with an adult every night for at least ten minutes.
Please would you sign your child’s homework and add any comments, if appropriate, such as if they have needed help to complete the work.
Your child will still need their book bag and a PE kit bag in Year 3. There is limited room on the pegs so a small drawstring bag for the PE kit is recommended. No rucksacks please.
PE Kit – children need a plain white t-shirt or a plain house colour t-shirt, a pair of dark coloured shorts and a plain dark coloured tracksuit. For outdoor PE a pair of sports trainers is required, not fashion trainers. As the weather gets colder children may also want to wear a hat and a pair of fingerless gloves.
Children are not permitted to wear jewellery for P.E, earrings must be taken out or covered with a plaster.
PE –Indoor will be done once a week.
– Outdoor PE will be done once a week and when it takes place will often depend on the weather – therefore children need to have their PE kit at school everyday.
We are very much looking forward to working with your child and hope that he/she will enjoy their time in Year 3. We work best when there is an effective partnership with parents so, if you have any concerns, or wish to discuss an aspect of your child’s education, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
