At Whinstone, we believe in providing a high quality musical education and the opportunity to be inspired by professional musicians in a wide range of musical genres. As such, we provide numerous opportunities throughout the academic year for pupils to work with skilled, professional tutors to be taught numerous instruments which include drums, guitars, woodwind, violin and vocal lessons.
These are taught by…
Josef Collier
Guitar Tutor
Bethal Nutter
Singing Tutor
Jack Young
Drumming Tutor
Mr. Lawrence
Violin Tutor
(Tees Valley Music Service)
Steve Bone
Woodwind Tutor
Children receiving lessons from these tutors will have opportunities to perform in school to their peers and at concerts hosted by the specialist teachers.
We also have a Key Stage 2 choir which rehearse every Tuesday lunchtime and perform at various points in the year, e.g. Christmas Fayre, local nursing homes, Summer Fayre. We sing a whole range of songs from World War Two classics to pop favourites!
In addition to all of this, children get a range of opportunities to perform throughout the year at whole school events such as ‘Whinstone’s Got Talent and ‘Whinstonbury’
